One more success for SOGET in the Caribbean Zone after winning a call-to-tender in Trinidad and Tobago.

SOGET international development is continuing in Trinidad and Tobago. This new step was made possible after the software editor won an international call for tender for the implementation of a “port and airport community system”. The contract for the implementation, maintenance and operation of the PCS has just been signed Trinidad and Tobago is the 10th country to be equipped with SOGET solutions.

SOGET system, from Jamaica to Trinidad and Tobago

The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, located in the Caribbean Sea, off the coast of Venezuela, remains one of the most dynamic States in the Caribbean. Benefiting from its natural resources, the island state has developed various activities in the petrochemical industry, becoming the world leading exporter of methanol, as well as steel and aluminium. Agricultural activity remains strong, with cocoa, coconut and citrus fruit production.

Trinidad and Tobago can boast of a relatively large digital footprint, with numerous development projects, such as the collection and exploring of Megadata in order to build a “smarter future”. Other initiatives, supported by the United Nations, include a sustainable development plan, as well as investments in health and education.

Trinidad and Tobago containers traffic is reported at 500,000 containers a year. S)ONE will be implemented in both  Port of Spain and Port of Point Lisas. Piarco International Airport will also be covered by SOGET Port Community System.

Trinidad and Tobago’s main partners for Trade are Venezuela, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Brazil and Jamaica, where S)ONE has been operating since 2015. SOGET has successfully achieved a major technological challenge by implementing S)ONE on Microsoft’s Azure Cloud for the first time. S)ONE is now 100% operational in Jamaican ports and airports, and nearly 500 people were trained. An average of 2 million TEUs transit through Jamaica every year, of which 85% are transshipped.

« Following the successful experience of the installation of our 4th generation PCS in Jamaica, the deployment of S)ONE in Trinidad and Tobago is part of a development process in the Caribbean zone operated by SOGET since 2015. Our teams are working hard every day to bring these projects to a successful conclusion and to expand SOGET’s international presence. We are now starting several months of implementation to install the solution and train the local teams. ». declares Hervé Cornède – Chairman of SOGET.
