A strategic partnership for the future of the blue economy in Africa.

We are thrilled to announce the signing of a major partnership between SOGET and the Pan-African Youth Organization for the Blue Economy (OPJEB) during Ernest Tindo’s visit to our offices in Le Havre, on the sidelines of OPJEB’s participation in the United Nations Ocean Conference in Nice.

This partnership is a continuation of an already active collaboration: SOGET had the honor of being an official partner of the first two editions of the Forum of Young Africans on the Blue Economy (FOJAEB), held in Lomé (Togo) and Toliara (Madagascar) respectively. These two flagship events confirmed the potential of African youth in the maritime and port sector.

This new agreement marks a major step forward: OPJEB and SOGET are joining forces to implement an ambitious program designed to accelerate the emergence of talent and initiatives in the blue economy across the African continent.

The main objectives of this partnership are:

  • To identify and train young African talent involved in the blue economy;
  • To offer training scholarships through the SOGET Academy;
  • To continue collaboration and participation in FOJAEB and other strategic events;
  • To welcome young people for incubation or immersion internships at SOGET’s operational sites.

Julien PRÉVEL – CEO of SOGET adds “By combining our expertise, our ambition is clear: to contribute to the development of a more inclusive, sustainable, innovative, and socially progressive blue economy, embodied by African youth, who are key players in the continent’s ecological, technological, and social transitions.”
